Reinisch hits 18

Funny story - Thalemar, a priest that Noor knows on the Maiev realm (and managed to grind out the schematic for the Arcanite Dragonling, which nobody seemed to know on that low population server), was transferring to another realm with some friends of his. Turns out he's going to The Venture Co. realm, which is where Reinisch is! So I finally decided to get a portal to Shattrath and set Reinisch's hearth there, so he can run into Thalemar sometime.

In portalling back to Thunder Bluff, I found a quest I had overlooked - Serpentbloom. That also lead to two other quests, the Report to Splintertree Post quest and the followup scout reports in Ashenvale and the The Essence of Aku'Mai quest in Blackfathom Deeps. I tried collecting the essences a couple of times using target dummies, but the sirens with their ranged frostbolts would go after me instead of the dummy. I had decided to skip the quest for now on my second corpse run back, but then I noticed all the mobs were dead. I gathered up some essences and saw that a ?? NE hunter had cleared a lot of the area, so I was able to finish this quest after all.

Noor doing quest: Missing in Action

I managed to do this quest long after it had turned grey. I don't know if I could have pulled it off when it was green and would get me more XP, since I have to do a lot of body pulls, plus I have to stand there and get pounded at times.

My fortune awaits!

After even more re-reading of quests on Wowhead.com, I've found that Sayge, the Darkmoon Faire fortune teller, sometimes gives you a fortune that gives you 650 XP, and you can get a fortune every two hours as long as the Faire is running. Looks like there's about a 1 out of 9 chance to get a quest that results in XP, although wowwiki says you get 0 XP, so I'll have to see...

Assuming I get 650 XP every time I'm lucky enough to get an XP fortune (i.e. that the quest is repeatable XP), let's say I can check 6 times on weekdays and 10 times on weekends, that's 50 attempts, which would be about 5 or 6 x 650, or 3250-3900 XP, a bit less than a BG daily at level 39. Not great, but not bad.

Update: I don't seem to get a fortune scroll (just the buff) until I'm friendly with Darkmoon Faire (I think), and according to scaryleon in the comments, the XP fortunes aren't repeatable. so it may only be 4 x 650 XP max. I'll see what happens...

Update 2: It doesn't look like I can get friendly with the Darkmoon Faire until I hit 40 and I can do the highest-end turn-ins for reputation. I'm 350 short of being friendly and I can no longer turn in mechanical repair kits, and all the other quest givers have gray "!" now. I could get to friendly if I can buy and turn in a Darkmoon Deck...

PS: The Arena Master & Grandmaster trinkets from the STV arena are another possibility, but again, I don't know if the XP for the Master trinkets is repeatable...

PS 2: Ok, I got my first Arena Master trinket, and got XP for the quest, but I can't do the quest again. Still, the Arena Grandmaster trinket is well worth trying for. I only had a rogue 2 levels below me to fight for the chest. Plus, it looks like you have to wait far more than 2 hours to get another fortune told now, so the Faire won't be a source of major XP even if the fortune quests are repeatable.

Final PS: OK, even though I'm not yet friendly with the Darkmoon Faire, this time I got a fortune in addition to the buff, so either it's random or my reputation is now high enough to get it. Hopefully, I can get some XP this weekend.

Future levels

I just hit level 39 (needed 9 battlegrounds), and to get to 40, I'll need to do 13 battlegrounds. I've planned out more future levels in terms of abilities and XP:

Pre-level 40: mine a lot (current mining is 361)

Level 40: Drop mining, take alchemy for a short time just to do Elixirs for the Bladeleafs quest (only need level 20 alchemy), drop alchemy, take Blacksmithing up to 200 and do the Blacksmithing quests available at 40 (over 50k XP!) I might keep Blacksmithing for a while so I can use the Glimmering Mithril Insignia. I can make good money fishing now, since I have all the STV contest equipment except the arcanite fishing pole.

Level 41: Switch Last Month's Mutton for Mug O' Hurt (with Icy Chill enchant and Crippling Poison).

Level 45: Get fishing book, get fishing up to 375.

Level 47-49: I might try to do all battlegrounds to do these levels, assuming I get two Freezing Bands (I have one now). Along with my Green Whelp Armor, anyone meleeing me has a better than 1 in 15 chance to either sleep or freeze. When I go into the 50-59 brackets, my whelp armor will no longer sleep opponents.

Level 50: Rocket Boots Xtreme! Get my engineering to 390. Do the quest in BRD to smelt dark iron, mostly for XP since I have a friend who can smelt it. Drop mining and take Tailoring to 300 so I can use Netherweave Nets in battlegrounds.

Level 55: From here on, it's remotely possible I'll be able to augment a lot of XP with....fishing! I can catch any number of Strange Engine Parts from Steam Pump Flotsam pools in Zangarmarsh. It's not a common catch, and I don't know how easy it will be for me to fish there at level 55, but once I can fish in peace, I can fish my way to 70 if I have to.

Noor doing the quest: Gizelton Caravan

Only used Blind, Advanced Target Dummy, and kept the caravan bandaged. Also notice that in two of the three encounters, one demon wasn't engaged at first and just despawned after a short while.
